Hi all, hope you're all having a lovely Monday :)
I was just wondering whether anyone had tried the Bucas 'buzz off' rugs, and what you thought of them? Also how the sizing/fit is?

Madam currently has a premier equine one from last year which I am pleased with - but I'd like to get a spare. Not sure whether to get another of these or whether to try the unknown! I do like the zebra print idea as although she won't thank me for it, she does get absolutely plagued by flies so I would be willing to put her in fancy dress if it helps. I haven't tried a bucas rug before though so not sure if they really are as good as they claim to be, or what the fit is like - she's a tall & skinny type, and quite active in the field, so wouldn't want to risk anything that may slip and slide about.

I have got a buzz off rain for my TBxWB. It is coming up for its 2nd year now and it looks as good as new. I like the idea of keeping the rain off when we have a shower in the summer and it does it's job well. I don't have a problem with it slipping at all even after a good roll. I would highly recommend. Well worth the money.

Having had a horse close to death with heatstroke last year, I would absolutely not put anything dark coloured on any horse during the summer. Vet said the same. Would use light coloured though if strictly necessary and Bucas rugs are renowned for good quality.

I also have the Buzz Off Rain rug - brilliant rug and fits my ISH really well. However, the belly cover just clips to the rug - there is no adjustment. Not a problem for me - it fits my mare nicely but, it's way too big for my other horse - a slender TB. I find the best fitting make of rug for her is Rambo.

I have the bucas fly rug (the zebra one!) and love it! We got it at the beginning of the summer last year. My horse suffers terribly with the flies so was in the position where we would try anything! We do get a few strange looks and I have had a few (non horsey) people asking about the zebra in the field! but she seems to be comfortable in it. Noticed she's not swishing madly at the flies when she's wearing it. The fit is fine, quite a slim fit round the shoulders. We also have the face mask to match! :)

MM had a bucas zebra fly rug and it just didn't fit at all, way too tight round the shoulders and very shallow. Looked like a miniskirt on her. Bearing in mind she is 7/8 TB so not at all chunky or wide. Shame as they are a great idea and probably fit others fine :)
