Having been a premier equine customer, I recently switched one to bucas & am really pleased with the rug (smartex lining).

Need to get a few more to add to the wardrobe & then sell the PEs.
I'm guessing FAL are the equal to bucas -aren't they?
So which in your mind's better & why?

I have lots of Bucas rugs, have used them for years and they are fab, - excellent quality and the fit is excellent, esp on large shoulders.

The coolers dry them off really quickly too because of the lining . The Smartex rain rugs are great for this time of year too.

FAL rugs fit very nicely too and are really deep, but Bucas are my favourite!.

I have FAL rugs and they are brilliant, outdoor are fantastic and I have had them years. Can't comment on the Bucas as never had one

I have both and am fans of both. Fals fit my chunky natives better than the buccas but the buccas are great for the narrower ones.

I ought to have set up a poll, but so far it's split.

I'd rather be buying rugs that last many seasons rather than cheapies that need replacing.
If only someone at my yard had a FAL I could compare against. The local tack shops seem to do one or the other, not both.

I'm a Bucas fan becasue of the smartex lining - if it is slightly warm one day or you need to put them out damp, it wicks away all the moisture! The fit is also fab and they have never rubbed my Arabs mane!

I brought the cheaper Irish lightweight turnout and indoor rugs too and found the fit is just as good - think the only difference is the lining!

I had a terrible time with 2 Bucus rugs i bought, the lady on the YHL stand talked me into buying them.
The fit was terrible on both my TB & IDxTB to the point i had to sell them, they did seem to do the job they where sold for but just didnt fit well at all & rubbed severely at the withers on my TB.

Ive never been much of a Fal person either in honesty ive only owned one Fal in my life, i prefer Horseware rugs. The Fal i do own though is a great fit.

I have just purchased some Fal Cheiftains as i wanted 40grm lightweights & there not much more expensive than a 1200D amigo lightweight. So hopefully i will like them.

So far, nothing negative against either in terms of quality & "fit for purpose". Only issue is fit, which I would say is comparable to other rugs.

Damn it, no clear winner so far!! -Perhaps I ought to get one of each.

bucas for quality and long lasting! Bucas rugs are amazing if they fit nicely- My Fal ssems to fit anything but it has come off worse than my Bucas over the years - ie Bucas no rips or tears after 5 years. The Fal has been repaired many times

FAL, i have some fal heavyweights that have done about 12 years and are still going strong. never rubbed, always clean up like new and stay waterproof (without reproofing.)
i have 2 bucas, both of which rub the shoulders, 1 of which leaks like a sieve. i'll never buy bucas again.
