I bought one cheap in a sale four years ago. It's beige and I always pooh-poohed it because of the colour.

I realised how fabulous it was during the snow last winter.

I have just spent a fortune on a new one, the poshest, Power one.....!

The Tank will be snug in his ridiculously expensive rugs this winter, while I am wearing the same jumper from last year......

how do you find they fit?

We have a lightish weight one (kind of a waterproof with a thick cotton lining) and although it's the right length for Tom, and seems to have enough room in the shoulder it rubs him enough to cause hair loss within a couple of days!

as a result it's up for sale.

I've always been a FAL person when it comes to rugs but finding the UK made ones now is practically impossible. Got a 2nd hand Bucas Power Turnout at a good price and in as new condition and am a real convert now. Great fit and so far no rubbing fortunately.

My horse has the power turnout and I think its *fab*!!

This is it's 5th or 6th winter, and it is still pretty much as new (with a few mud stains!)

I love my Bucas rugs. We have the ones you can put on wet horses & they work beautifully.

The fit is very good on the gelding, but the mare is a bit more chunky & I had to get a chest expander for her. I should have gotten the deeper one for cobs etc but didn't realise it was a problem until after she had worn it a while.

Worth the money for us

So I don't need to feel too guilty then:)

I was going to buy muself a new pair of work shoes, but that will have to wait till next month......
