Hi there
Does anyone know what the sizings come up like on these? i.e. are they generous fitting? wondering whether to get a 6' or 6'3'' for the boy! If anyone can steer, i'd be grateful!

I love Bucas rugs but they just don't fit my pony - they dig in and rub his withers. Admitedly the ones I have are quite old and I think they do a wide neck version now.

I've only used a couple of these on yards i've worked on but i've never found them to be overly generous, especially on slighter broader horses. They always seemed to be good lasting rugs though. Hope you get one that fits. :)

I agree the sizing's not overly generous - my TB takes between 6'3 and 6'6 - I bought a 6'6 Bucas and it fits perfectly. Hope that helps.

I'm a recent convert to this brand, they fit my new horse spot on (MW type).

I'd say they are bang on size.

I love the cut of the neck/shoulder - they seem to fit above the wither yet have plenty of room around the shoulder without pulling back onto the shoulder & wither.

I have the celtic stables & the sunshower turnout in this range

Love the rugs, but they are not generous in size. They only fit my finer horse. Anything with a bit of shoulder tends to be too tight despite the way the neck is cut.
Really wish they'd cater for the big warmbloods and cobs.

I've found them to be true to size. My mare takes 6ft in Bucas, Weatherbeeta, Shires etc... but needs 6ft3 for Horseware (Amigo, Rhino and Rambo). :)

I agree that Bucas suit lightweight horses, I've not used any of the big neck ones though, just the standard ones.

PS, I didn't like the Sunshower, but the Smartex, Irish and Power rugs are brilliant.

I'm really impressed with Bucas rugs and the wide temperature range they can cover. Two of my horses have had Bucas rugs, I would agree that they are not overly generous size wise so in your case would go for the larger size. They are very robust. Second to FAL they are my favourite rugs these days.

I have two for The Tank. He is a 16.1 draft who takes 6'9".
The older rug fits great but the rug I got last year is a bit big! He'd be better in a 6,6" and that's never happened before!

My five horses all wear Bucas and I would say they are bang on size. The only thing is I usually buy a size larger for most rugs anyway as I like the extra length and width to play with.

The 6ft6in fits my boy perfectly. He takes the same size in Shires and Rhino rugs. I think they tend to fit the thoroughbred types best, but mine are great - always the first ones I reach for when they are not away being cleaned. Only downside - the lining (on power turnout) can be slow to dry if it gets wet (no - it hasnt leaked)
