I've never used bucas before, I've been looking on there website and I like the look of them I'm looking at the smartex all in one turnout, they are pricey (cheapest I've seen £138) but I want a rug that is going to last so dont mind paying a bit more, dont know if Bucas will fit her either she is a 16.3 chunky dutch warmblood generally takes a 6'9 sometimes 6'6 are they generous? Thanks

I think they are great rugs. We have a Smartex turnout and I really like the shape around the shoulders - seems much better than anything else I've seen because of the pad on the front (and I'm a total Horseware devotee).

It's really tough and the fleecy lining means you don't have to worry about slinging it on a damp horse. I thought the fleece would be annoying, but it has performed really well and doesn't seem to rub/create static. Try Tosca Rugs if you want to buy mail order - we got ours from them at Badminton and they had some end of line rugs on special offer. Sure they would be able to advise on the sizing.

I'm a huge Bucas fan, my horse wears the Power Turnout all winter long, indoors and out.

size wise I'd say they come up smallish, I'd tend to go for the bigger size on a chunky horse.

Oh thanks, I prefer to have a full neck so I would probably get a neck cover as I dont think they do them where the neck is attached which is what I generally prefer as alot of the neck covers fall back if that makes sense and you end up with wet necks, does this happen with the bucas? Thanks

not at all, ours is fixed on with long wide strips of velcro all down the neck, doesn't move at all. I think they do them with neck attached - one of my friends had a power turnout with fixed neck. But don't be put off if you can only get a detachable neck, they are still good.

Love them hugely!! Ditto above about the necks, they are great. I have a 16hand TB x Dutch WB she is usually a 6ft6 or 6ft9 - she has the 6ft6 and it fits really well.

ooh i love bucas rugs

i have a cooler type one and its fantastic, i really recommend them, i was looking at the turnout the other day too.

They are really good. I have a lightish weight one ~(cost me about £80) I've had it over five years now, it's never been washed, is still waterproof and had never been ripped or damaged in anyway.
