Bucking on one rein - Help

my mares coming on great but we have a slight issue

Canter uphill & straight line great :D

canter on the left rein Very green but ok

canter on the right rein BUCK BUCK BUCKKKK:mad: she only really bucks when you ask for canter once she gets going she stops
Its not a little buck either

i know all horses have a better rein & she is less supple on the right rein but could this be pain related? she does not do it on the lunge
& how should i deal with it? she has had her back checked & new saddle fitted
 
It could be a pain issue, could be green-ness and being unbalanced in picking up the canter lead, have you got an instructor or someone who could watch you ride her and see what they think? Does she do it if you lunge her to the right in canter?
 
yes my instructor was riding her today when she was doing her most impressive ones yet:o
she doesn't do it at all on the lunge nor in walk or trot whilst im riding
she is very unbalanced but this is improving
 
My girl is the same except she's fine when I'm on her on both reins, it's just when I lunge her on the one rein that she will fuss when i ask the first time although not full on buck. Once she's got over it she goes nicely. I'm sure with her it's that she's not as balanced and she finds it harder on that rein. When I'm on her and ask on that rein, she gets her confidence from me so doesn't fuss. Might be worth getting a check though.
 
My instructor does say it is because she finds that rein more difficult

now i am anticipating (excuse spelling) her bucking im wondering if she will pick up on it and do it all the time?

Ah my daughter's mare loved a good buck, I can't recall now what her instructor said to do about in detail except support her in building up her weak side (also the right as it happens) and also to send her forward, and also to bridge reins and sort of rise out of the saddle slightly to keep yourself from being pitched around, but I might be mis-remembering.... I'm sure there was something else

Iv had a similar problem. Had back/teeth/saddle etc checked - all fine.
Ended up just doing LOTS of canter work on that rein. He was bucking as this was his "bad" rein, and he just needed to build up his confidence and balance. Ride through the bucks if you can, (easier said than done I know)! The more you do it, the better they get.
Obviously change it up and ride the other rein too.

Oh and for the first few times do a XC seat..stand slightly out of the saddle so you free his back up a bit.
