Update: horse returning to work after ligament damage. Had steroid injections 4/5 weeks ago, has been ridden lightly and now cantering in straight lines, no problems.

Weekend: horse sharp in arena day before just walk and trot on long side. Spooked a fair bit. Next day took horse out for a canter, birds flying around the horse at ground level. He didnt bother then took exception to them and shied massively which yurned into a severe bucking session.

Back sore or taking the mick?!

If you horse has been out of work, the shape of his back may have changed. If he has been on box rest recently and is out having exercise it is mostly high spirits. When my horse was on box rest with a split DDFT, he turned into a crazed rearing monster and he is usually such a laid back and calm person.

If your last saddle fitting was before his injury, I would get the saddle fitter out, then you will know for sure.
