Things are getting alot better with Buddy, brought the electric pipe for when he kicks out and he hasn't really done it much since.

He only seems to really kick out when i try and clean his legs and he isnt really taking to the idea that i need to clean his bits. I cant get near it without him kicking out of me...and my mum trying to get his attention with carrots either isn't working!

Also i was wondering is anyone elses horse has done this? Yesterday i had Buddy tied up whilst was mucking out and he was scraping his hoofs on the floor to try and get my attention. He was driving me mad so i actually wacked the shovel down on the floor a few inches away from where he was standing. It did the job scared him a little but he didnt do it again. The thing i find odd is i went to fill his water bucket up and was standing their watching him and he randomly bucked for no reason at all. There was nothing around to bother him or anything....any ideas???

Yeah i think so to really! Ive cut down on his food and havent backed him just been going back to handling him and doing a few days lunging in week nothing too long about 5 mins each way. Im going on holiday in 3 weeks so i just want to get him sound for handling and then maybe start all over again when i come back.

He sounds like he is just acting like a spoilt child that when he doesn't get his own way he throws a strop. You could try getting someone to lift his front leg up while you clean the back legs as he would find it very difficult to kick or buck. I treid this with one of mine and he can't kick me when his front leg is up.
