Any one use these regularly?

I want to purcase a sunshower and a celtic MW stable (no neck) for a new horse.

He sort of falls between 6'3" and 6'6", and possible has a little filling out to do as he is only 5yrs.

In Rambo's he goes into a 6'6" nicely, however, my limited experience of the Bucus is that they are quite generously cut around the neck, I don't want to risk a 6'6" slipping back and pulling on the wither.

So after advise from any Bucus guru's - 6'3 or 6'6" ????

I have several for both my horses. They are generous around the neck, but the way they are cut means they dont slip back. The front is slightly tapered in & then it puffs out for the shoulders.....-does that make sense?

I really couldn't advise on which size, other than I have a 6'3" horse & it has a 6'6 rhino stable which fits, although a little big. He has a 6'3 turnout from Bucas which is ideal. However he has no filling out to do.

I would say that they come a little more generous than horseware (had a 6'3 t/o from them before which was a bit short) but are fair to size.

They are worth spending the money on too.

I haven;t had one recently, I had one the the heavy weight turnouts, it was silver with a red lining if I remember rightly, and bough a 6ft for my 15.1 polo pony (he is usually 6ft in other rugs) and it was tight at the front, I ended up selling it at a massive loss to my friend for her spindly TB (same height but less build than my boy.

As I said though this was a while ago when they first brought this rug out 9Bucas power??)

I would go for the 6ft 6 - I have LOADS of Bucas rugs and most are the same size that they take in Horseware rugs.

Bucas are my fave make of horse rug because of the fit and they last for years- when one of my horses (who is now 15) was 4 I bought him 6ft3 in Bucas, they are still going strong now- but generally his 6ft 6 Bucas's fit him better .

My horse who takes a 6ft9 has 2 of the Bucas Celtic quilts- one med and 1 h/w and they are both 6ft 9.

Even if you don't get the sizing quite right, they don't seem to move or rub them.

Agree I would go for the larger size, I love bucas too quality and fit 2nd to non however I did find my current bucas power turnout a little tight on my boys broad chest, so I purchased the extender buckle and problem solved, rug fits really well and never mores.

The only Bucas rug that I have not liked is the Sunshower and I would not buy another. The Bucas Smartex Rain, LW Rhino and LW Amigo 1200 are all much better LW rugs IMO.

I have found that Bucas are slightly more generous in size than Horseware. My mare fits a 6ft Bucas and a 6ft3 Horseware perfectly, but she can just about squeeze into a 6ft Horseware.

My friend works for bucas, so needless to say, i have bucas rugs, their sizing is smallish, bucas 6ft 9 used to fit my old mare, when I had to buy in a hurry, i bought a rambo rug in the same size and it was too big!!!
I love them, the quality is fantastic, durability great!!! wouldnt go further than them even if i wasnt getting a discount, as i would have always bought in the sale!!!

I find they are small around the neck, have tried several different rugs on several different horses and never had a horse (apart from a 2 yr old ISH with no shoulder) that they fitted without cutting in.
Have a few gathering dust in the tackroom.
However the Rambo's, Fal,Pessoa are fine.

How strange, all my Bucas' are bigger than the same size Horseware rugs that I have.

My mare in a 6ft Bucas Smatex Rain (please ignore the washing line and the headcollar ;) ) and a 6ft LW Horseware Amigo with her bottom sticking out. :o Her 6ft3 Horseware Duo fits really nicely.

ETA. I find the neck openings are small on Bucas' standard rugs, but that's good for me as I have LW/small shouldered horses.
