Budget for & Dealers specialising in Irish Draughts / Cob Types

I'm hoping to start horse shopping early next year, 6 months-ish time and have always had a thing for Irish cobs, IDs and chunkier ISH types - I was wondering if anyone could recommend any reputable dealers (ideally around West Midlands, but happy to travel much further, or to Ireland itself, to see a few horses at once) who might specialise in these types of horse?

I want to try and get a good idea of what my budget should be via checking out some dealers' sites, but if you have opinions i'd also appreciate your input - i'd be looking for something between 15.2-16.2, 5-10 years, for RC level activities with a slight bias towards jumping as opposed to dressage, so the horse should ideally like jumping but doesn't need to be amazing at it, just not hate it.

From checking out some private ads, it seems like my initial guess of up to £10k might be ok-ish, but honestly the range in prices seems quite wide, so i'm not sure if i'm lowballing there and need to adjust my wishlist given the market at the moment.

Thank you for any input!

At the moment, £10k is probably the minimum you'll need for something with no compromises. If you're willing to compromise on age / experience / education / slight issues you may be lucky with £8k. I bought what you're looking for a year ago from a lovely dealer, Natacha Bonner (NB equine on Facebook) in Hampshire. She's a bit out of the West Mids area but has some lovely horses and is very straightforward to deal with. A lot of hers tend to be at the younger end of your age bracket and a bit green but lovely horses.

For me for an older draught I would looking in the 12 to 20 k range but would only want a top quality individual .
If you can compromise in some areas like the jump between ten and fifteen will find one and you may get one cheaper if you are prepared to do a bit of graft to get what you want out of the horse when you buy it .
You need to open minded and quick at the moment and you are coming into peak buying time for these types as people look to buy hunters .

I bought a cracking ID from Probus Equine at Exeter, Devon.
They always have quite a few in but mostly 4/5/6 yrs
they usually seem to give them a good experience such as taking them to the beach, fun rides, xc schooling etc and I found them very professional.
I also know of someone whose purchase didn’t work out and they took him back.
I have noticed that their average price has risen considerably since I bought him in March though ?.

Lucie Turner Equestrian in South Staffordshire has one - a bay ID mare- at the moment . She's in the right height range but a year older - to give you an idea, she's 8.5k

Smart Performance Horses in Leicestershire often have that stamp as well
