Buffalo leather saddle

I need some advice before buying one (second hand).

I have to admit, it isn't love at first sight, BUT it does fit my horse & it is soft and comfy.

Please can you share your experiences (long term) with this type of leather.

I've got two saddles made from buffalo leather. They are lovely. I've had one for three years and the other for two. Don't know what you want to know about them. I treat them just like any other saddle, ie. treat them abysmally and hardly ever clean them but they look as good as new.

I'll be watching this thread as I've just bought a dressage saddle and got an upgrade on the leather

I suppose what I need to know is how this leather lasts in comparison to standard leather.

What cleaner do you use? Or does any normal cleaner / oil do the job?
