Bugger, bugger, bugger - broken horse

Morning All.

Nothing really conclusive from vet visit yesterday.

The outside of the hoof wall was very warm by yesterday afternoon, and there was an amount of heat also in the pastern. The vet thinks that he's either sprained his supsensory ligament or that he has significant pus in the foot. He's asked my blacksmith to look at him today - which is happening around 1.00ish. So I'm keeping my fingers crossed for the pus.

The localised swelling implicated his check ligament - but there was no reaction so it's probably just filling.

Box rest anyway this week - bute starting tonight after the farrier's visit. Luckily he can go in to a barn with a mate as he won't do box rest..........

Will keep you all posted. But thanks for the vibes

Fantastic news. I bet a week ago you never thought you'd be praying for pus! Hope he feels better soon x

Sounds like an abscess tbh. When they dont put weight on it, all the tendons etc feel soft anyway which causes panic to set in!! Fingers crossed all will come good in a couple of days
