Builder’s bags for transporting hay/feeds/rugs to field?

Does anybody use builder’s sacks to transfer their feed/hay/rugs to their horses? Our driest field is a little walk from the stables - thankfully downhill on the way out - and the horses have started living out 24/7 again but I am still feeding twice per day small feeds to spread it out, my good doer mare is on limited grazing as precaution so has a small amount of hay morning and evening and with this constantly changing weather I am constantly carting different rugs up and down there. A small wheelbarrow isn’t big enough and the big one is heavy on the way back up the hill. I’ve been using a tonne bag and dragging it down but the bottom is fraying. Does anyone know where I can get some tough builders bags from or have any other suggestions I can try for transporting stuff down there?

Yes! They are perfect but not the huge one. As you can’t carry them high enough off the ground when full. Mine are 500kg and that’s plenty big enough.
I use them to ferry hay to the field and actually you can fill them and sit them on top of a small barrow to save carrying. I carry mine over my back like Santa but don’t have far to go!
The farm had a load so I use them but I’ve also got from Amazon in the past

At the yard they are used for straw and hay from large bales. Just dragged about as they’re far to big and heavy to lift . They are easy to replace when worn out as they’re always advertised on local Facebook pages!

I’ll bet you have the regular 1 tonne ones. The smaller are revolutionary 😂
Still plenty big enough but that bit easier to handle.

Yes but one bag is one bed’s top up, is one journey. They have big round bales and big ‘squares’ in variety. Hay is mostly fed on the floor so just fill a bag, take it to the stable empty it and on to the next.

I have hestons so perhaps can get more in per bag because it’s way more compacted than rounds.
 
The smaller garden waste type bags are easier to handle.

Hippo skip bags are stronger than builders bags but are more expensive. There are other skip bags on amazon but I don't know if they're a stronger construction.
 
Tonne bags are so Useful for hay/straw.
If you get a tonne builders bag, because theyre a huge handy size, but also stick to the outside bottom a useless old split tubtrug,( as theyre made very flimsy these days and often split leaking water). Use ‘sticks like sh*t’ (real product in a silicone tube) to stick the tubtrug to the bottom of the builders bag. It’ll easily stick polyplastic to plastic and be waterproof.
You will effectively have made a tonne bag with a snow sled stuck to the botton that’ll slide more easily on any ground, and wont fray the tonne bag, giving you long-life use.

I have the smaller ones too!

I nab them when ever there is a delivery at work.

ETA - I'm not stealing they would go in the skip if i didn't take them.
