We're building a bank and sunken road but I don't know what the dimensions should be on the top of the bank and in hte sunken road...I'd don't want any bounces but to jump up, 1 or 2 strides then jump down and visa versa for the sunken road. Do the same distances from normal jumps strides apply to steps/banks/drops? I.e. I normally walk 8 steps for a 1-stride double for my horse - should I use this?
Many thanks!

Sorry i don't exactly know.. but it's the sort of thing you want to get just right, as if you don't a) you wont be able to change it, and b) it'll really piss you off..
I suggest you go to your local XC schooling ground with a tape measure and see what the distance they use is (and maybe ride it to see if you like it)..

watched a program by team fredricks and they were walking a sunken road, from what i remember they said the horse lands 1/2 a stride from the edge of the drop and takes off 1/2 a stride before the next up bit with 2 strides between, so they paced from the edge of the drop off 2 human strides, then paced 8 human strides (2 horse strides @ 12ft each) then 2 human strides to the end, i.e should be 12 human strides in total from end to end. hope that helps.
