I'm looking to house under one large roof (or one roof and a lean-to) and indoor school, a few stables and some storage for hay & stuff. So roughly looking at a 30 x 40m building.

Now the big problem is where do I find the people who sell these kind of buildings ? I'm starting from the premise that it will be cheaper if it has agricultural in the name rather than equestrian!! How will I know they are any good at what they do ?

I would appreciate if anyone cared to share their experience and advice / reco (I'm based in the NE or England).

Thank you for your help.

Hi Sanolly,
I'm thinking of a 20 x 40 school with 10 m extra on the width to have a few stables & storage.
I mainly do dressage and there is no way I could afford a 20 x 60.

Do you still think that would be too small ?

There is alot of difference in price between agricultural specification and industrial (industrial being more expensive). Have a look in the Farmers Weekly for shed manufacturers, remember though that the price quoted will probably not include any cladding, doors or erection. You can normally about double the initial cost to give a rough idea of the total cost of the shed and erection. Don't forget to add in site work and floor.

I'm also looking into this! We're plaaning on either a 40m x 30m building like you, plenty big enough for a 40 x 20 arena and quite a few stables, or 60m x 30m :)

Just google steel framed agricultural buildings and you'll get loads come up.

I can't remember who supplied our 35m x 30m building, which I need to find out as I need a quote from them, so when I know, I'll let you know!

This is our current one, built 3 years ago....

Think it was around £75,000 when we purchased it.

Robinsons agricultural buildings do ones like that and you can add /design bits yourself. I had them erect one I designed and they were really really good.

You could try Waddingtons? Think they're at either Catterick or Bromton on Swale.
I think I'm right in thinking that If its for personal use only you will get away with an agricultural building but if it is for liveries or outsiders to use then you will need an indutrial building?

Thank you all for all the great advice ! More options = more choices, this is going to be a tough one ! Mind you for that amount of money, better to think it through carefully.

Yes, 2nd hand is another option BUT be careful as if you have to pay for it to be dismantled and transported it can actually end up being a LOT more than a brand new one!

Ours was from Construction and Cladding Services Ltd, Derby, 01332 793 034 :)
