New mare has been out of work for 2 years and is also an ex brood mare, she has zero muscle or top line.
I would like to start building it up before we have the saddle fitter out.
Anyone have some good exercises we can do with her from the ground?

I would strongly recommend the book by Olliver Hillberger on groundwork - it is easy to follow with loads of straightforward explanations and useful photos. They also show in photos how using groundwork transformed a rather skinny Arab into a gorgeous muscular beauty - quite an inspiration!

Just looked this up on Amazon .. How much? for a book? :o

Gawd, goodness knows what's happened there guys!

I bought mine (paperback) last year from Amazon and it was just £11.99:o

I know it is very well rated by many professionals, so perhaps the price inflation is because of its increasing popularity.

:O! I bought this less than 6 months ago, and paid about £13 for the paper back version. That is madness!

If you google the title there are a couple of online book sellers that are selling it for around £20!

Ooo... I could make a little profit :D:D:D:D:D

PM me if you want to sell ;)

I will be in the same position in May OP but my boy will have been out of work for nine months. I will be doing lots of long reining, some lunging and ground work to help build him up and to build a bond with him. I have sat on him and he is as good as gold (nine months .... TB ... didnt go skywards ... not normal i know ;))
I will aslo be adding some carrot stretches and pole work after the first two-three weeks. I plan to take it slowly and really enjoy the summer with him :)

Says out of stock... Looks like it is out of print at the moment. May have to contact cadmos (I think) who publish it and see if they have any editions.

Good luck peeps. Can't part with mine I'm afraid. Restarting a mare after injury this summer and need it for reference... Otherwise I would sell. Sorry and good luck! :)
