Building new yard - Equestrian architect?

Just need a little advice please

Some friends are planning on building a yard which they intend to let out as a whole to generate income from their land. I have given them suggestions and advice, including a plan of my suggested layout (as it may be me who rents the yard) but do they need an Equestrian architect to draw up proper plans for planning permission and builders use?

The stables will be internal but will be within a barn for which permission has already been obtained, and the manège/lights will require separate planning so I'm guessing no architect needed but I'm no building expert! Is it sensible to use one in order to point out potential flaws/benefits to layout etc?

You may need to apply for change of use on the said land agricultural to equestrian. The company I bought my stables off supplied the blue print for planning and builders to do the ground works. I would think using a company who supply international partitions would do the same? I actually never went back to the company that supplied the blue print! If you're applying for a few bits. I did change of access, stables and school in one hit. As long as you start one bit the planning continues if tou dont start any thing it runs out in 5years i think? I did my change of access firt the stablea didnt actually happen for a couple of years and its only now after 9 years my school is starting.
Do think about what way your winter winds blow etc my field already had a field shelter but the rain and wind blew straight in so when I planned my stables I made sure they were standing away from the winter winds
