It's been a long time coming (we moved here 2 years ago and got planning permission 2 years ago) but we have finally started work on our new yard!

It's going to have 18 stables, office, tack room, feed room, rug storage and it's finally starting to take shape - well the concrete base is!

http://www.rollestone-farm.com/STABLES.html is where we're recordng the progress - it's amazing the difference in just over a month. We're hoping to have a few stables ready for foaling as at the moment all my boxes are taken up with liveries!

oh, god, reading about your planning battles brings back a lot of bad memories... jeez, the planners really can be completely impossible, can't they? what a nightmare. looks as if it's going to be a fantastic yard though, and you have some lovely horses.
btw Saminca is far too gorgeous to be a broodmare, i think she'd like to come and be an eventer for me first...

you really live somewhere called pennsylvania !! how cool a name is that !!

its great that you are doing a photo diary of it will be great to look back on when its done. sounds like you are getting a super yard lucky you

At last, and I'm so glad you managed to get permission, looking at the ariel view how on earth could they legitimately object, you are well away from them.
The very best of luck and deep pockets, as I know how much concrete costs, our latest bill for an addition to the 80 feet by 30 strip we've done made me gasp, and it's only the tackroom floor base!
It's really exciting seeing progress pics, so keep them coming!

Lol I'll bear that in mind! I'm really pleased with her - she's growing into a lovely young lady! She's huge as well - 15.2 at 8 months!

Sooty - you're right a vibrating poker is absolutely fine to have in a place were I regularly ask the postman if he's brought me any semen!

Vicki yep we really do live in Pennsylvania - whch is always fun to say when giving out your address!

Clarey - hope your concrete pour went ok - it's so exciting seeing it all start to happen isn't it!

It will be a lovely yard when it's done - but our pones won't get to go in it - they'll be slumming it in the barn! This will be for full liveries only

Next year will be a very busy year wth lots of changes here - and one day we might even get a house!! (although that's pretty low on the priorities!)
