Hello
I have a 13 year old ex racehorse that was diagnosed with kissing spine and hock spavins last year. She had 8 months 'off' in that she was rehabbed as per vet instructions with regular checks. She had acupuncture, laser treatment and a new saddle as well as a prolite to wear under her saddle whilst her muscles develop again.
She was treated with the injections (back and hocks) and was given the OK to come back into competition work in December/January. Since then she has stayed sound, competed in dressage and showjumping, been to RC camp and is now starting to event.
However - I can't seem to get and keep her topline. She built up again on her neck and quarters, but then seemed to start losing it again and I have made no progress on her back it seems. She is worked 6 times a week including lunged in a pessoa as per vet instructions once or twice a week. She does hill work at least once a week, pole work, jumping and flatwork. She likes to go like a giraffe, so I have to insist she goes forward into a contact and stays round but it can be a struggle.
She is fed on conditioning cubes (Baileys No 4 or Dodson & Horrell Build up), Dengie alfa a and corn oil. She is turned out 24/7.
Does anyone have any exercises or suggestions for helping to build topline please? I just want to make sure she stays strong through her abs and back so that she keeps the KS at bay and stays comfortable.

Thank you!
