Hi,
This horse I have recently bought as a bit of a project is super unfit and has lost all his muscle in his bum (I think its what people call gossrumped) , shoulders, round is withers and neck.
Does anyone know any ways to build this all up correctly?
I would like to show him in the summer too and do some working hunters.
He is a thourabredy type and 16.3
Would love to hear your tips as I really need to get started , Thanks Immy x

Hillwork, circles, transitions, polework and moving onto lateral work eventually. Try maybe giving him conditioning feed as well after working him so it helps with getting his muscle back. My horse came to me looking a bit stick like, but after feeding him conditioning feed twice a day, he is so much bigger now. He basically just wasnt getting nutrients. He wasnt really worked that much either and definitely not hard, I was too much of a wimp at the time haha. As yours is a TB I would look for slow release conditioning feed like what Spillers does, but I am sure you can find it in whatever brand you use.

There are no shortcuts; feed/ gadgets to get good quality muscle, just working in the correct way - if you are unsure how to do this find yourself a good instructor. Poles/ cavaletti/ hill work will all help but only if the horse is working correctly first

Walking out for 6 weeks did this for my project ;). Plenty of hills round me too. She stopped brushing behind with this (physio prescribed) exercise plan.

Hill work and raised trotting poles loose is all I do. When at a hill you can rein back a few steps up the hill to lift the back and build up the ham strings more.

Correct work and training .
However after being a sceptic and do think the supplement myoplast is a well worth considering .

Using the poles got his bum working and back lifting and rounding
