I am in a position to purchase a 2001 Vauxhall Movana high top horse box, but it doesnt have a reinforced bulk head, instead it is just marine ply. Does anyone have an idea of cost, as i would feel happier if it was replaced. TIA

This could prove to be very expensive if it is possible to do it and my advice is don't buy it.
To reinforce the bulk head will require a lot of welding and it may be that the existing panels will have to be removed and the framework will have to be modified so as to be able to weld on to it and make the whole structure stronger.

I am afraid that I would not buy either as I would be concerned that if the builder did not reinforce the bulkhead, a necessary part of a conversion, then I would worry about what else they missed out. Is the floor properly constructed, the walls attached to the floor strongly enough, the structure reinforced around where cut outs have been made for doors/ramps?

I would be afraid of what corners have been cut where I could not see.

I would check carefully that the bulkhead is strong enough. Talk to a horsebox builder/repairer and get a quote for a structurally sound bulkhead. It also begs a question - where else did the builder compromise on safety?

The fact that the builder of the horsebox didn't bother reinforcing the bulkhead shows the potential for other things to be shortcut. I would be worrying aout other aspects of the build. It probably looks pretty but all is not what it appears. I wouldn't touch it.
