Bull Fighting Banned

Have never seen a bullfight so don't feel i can comment - but the link to that article is completely contradicted by the video of a Picador which is in the video vault atm......

As with foxhunting, surely there are always two sides to any story? And without witnessing it, I am not going to take a side.

Completely contradicted? Nope, one misstep and that horse could just as easily be disembowelled I'm afraid! Especially considering a peto isn't being used, even when one is used a horse frequently suffers internal injury and broken ribs, and can still be disembowelled and I certainly find it disgusting to use animals in such a way. If you want to show off your horses athleticism and balance then take up dressage instead of risking its life. Not to mention the suffering that the bull has to endure.

Whilst it is great bullfighting has been banned in Catalonia, they only host about 15 bullfights a year compared to the thousands in the rest of Spain. This is also more of a political statement that Catalonia are distancing themselves further from the rest of Spain. Either way it is good news and a start.
In Catalonia there was only one bull ring in use with about 400 season ticket holders whereas in Madrid the bull ring there has 19,000 season ticket holders.
To get this banned in the rest of Spain will be a different matter completely.
Well done to the Catalans for doing this , for whatever reason!!!

I once took part in a naked protest against bullfighting, and I'm so happy that things are finally beginning to move in the right direction.

What on earth was that meant to achieve apart from you getting a tan? Isn't the point of a protest to get the subject noticed which most would have forgotten about being faced with loads of naked flesh?
