Bull Jumps out of the Arena

1. I can't believe that some posters are pleased by this - a 10yr old child is seriously injured!
2. The video of the bull's jump reminded me of various recent photographs (in H & H perhaps) where firstly an event horse jumped over the ropes into the crowd, and secondly the same thing happened at a race. Perhaps there are closer parallels than we care to think.
I'm not a big fan of anything involving animal cruelty, obviously, but there's a fine line between respecting another country's culture, and campaigning for welfare.
S :D
I hope the child is ok and the parents question the wisdom of it as entertainment!! wonder if they had a look of helpless fear when said kiddie was under the bull, you have got to admit it's funny when there is a picture of the "brave" matador with a horn up his backside in the newspaper I wonder if it makes his eyes water or does the training in this "tradition" help him retain his composure:D

IMHO, any parent who takes a young child to this sort of 'entertainment' is too stupid and insensitive to be allowed to breed! So parents probably blamed the bull, blamed the organisers, and blamed EVERYONE else except the ones truly responsible - themselves!

im sorry ( actually im not ) that a child got injured !!!!! FFS piss off an animal that strong and scare it stupid what do you expect ?????
maybe if it had killed many the government would have been forced to take some kind of action. after all the European govt tell us what to do.
there's a lot of cruelty in many countries including my own but the Spanish generally take the mickey. they'll torture anything for fun/religion/festivals etc.
OK i know its banned but what if . . .
a child was bitten by a dog at a dog fight would you blame the dog ?? i think not.
you cant blame the bull he'd only got one thing on his mind survival !!

In the interest of fairness, it needs to be pointed out that this was not actually a bullfight: (Telegraph Online)

"The incident did not take place during a traditional bullfight but during a contest of “recortadores”, in which participants try to avoid the bull while staying as close to it as possible."

The bull was shot in the stands and then craned out.

I do not condone the 'sport' it was being made to take part in, but at least it wasn't as inhumane as a bullfight to the death, which I detest.

But it has also been reported that the organisers did actually INSERT NEEDLES INTO THE BULL'S SCROTUM beforehand so he would 'be impressive & perform for the crowd'.

Sorry, I feel no sympathy for any of the spectators and just felt sad that the bull was so desperate to find a escape route he had no choice than to jump into the crowd.

I bet he was tortured a bit before they slaughtered him too, sick ba......s :-(

Is it true they cut the horses vocal chords to stop them screaming in pain when if they are gored?

Bullfighting, cockfighting, bear baiting... whats the differance? The latter two are banned and so should the first be in all countries.

Bulls are not vicious animals, they have been tortured before the fight or "tease" has begun.

I would never watch this and never would I let a child see this.

It makes me feel sick :(:(

I thought they were banning bull fighting and the like? I can appreciate it is their tradition. But a lot of traditions just become outdated and can be classed as barbaric. People need to move with the times. The fear and torment these poor bulls go through is just awful. Barbaric and wrong.

Karma is a bitch aint it?

I think bull fighting is just disgusting end of. I hate any kind of animal cruelty and abuse for whatever feeble excuse.

I absolutely detest bull fighting in any form. They're not solitary animals, they already have a natural fear of humans and to antagonise, torture, tease and frighten them is just beyond my grasp for the concept of "entertainment". - Just as patches said

I think it's sick, any form of entertainment with animals where there are being put in stressful, un-natural and unfair situations are beyond me. Why on earth would anybody want to watch that.

Sick.
