Does anyone ride with a bum bag that will carry a water bottle (I have a 500ml thermos type bottle)? Looking for recommendations as I am suffering hugely with hayfever which affects my throat only so need to keep drinking. I'd rather a bum bag than a saddle bag for ease as I ride a few horses.

Never thought I would be asking for bum bag recommendations for a bum bag!

There are some good products used by the endurance riders but they tend to attach things to the saddle rather than on themselves. I always worry about having things on me if I have a fall and I certainly wouldn’t want to land on a metal bottle. There was an incident with a Trec rider recently who landed on her orienteering compass and ended up in A&E with badly damaged ribs so maybe a bottle holder that attaches to the D ring might be better.

And clearly I like saying Bum bag after re-reading my post!

I hadn't thought about falling off - it is a very valid point and something to consider. Attaching to saddle does seem to be a better idea in hindsight.

I use a bumbag but use a water bottle that attaches to the saddle. If I'm doing a longer ride, I'll use saddle bags too to hold food etc.

My bum bag is a running one - I think it is Karrimor but will double check for you!
