I have a 9 year old hunter and I think he's had quite a hard life! he's not lame but from his knee down he has lots of little lumps and bumps.... you couldn't say he had 'clean legs!' I think they are just old scare tissue etc but I could be wrong! I've been putting magnetic boots on him in the field and as I say he's not lame but does anyone think these are anything I should be worried about? I only want to use him for hacking and the occassional day hunting. any advice greatfully received :D

I wouldn't put boots on your horse in the field as his tendons can become overheated. It would be better to buy a band for his legs so that the circulation can flow. I leave boots on my horse during the day whilst he's rested in the stable and his legs are never that hot when i take them off when I get there after work but I suppose that's because he is not moving around much in the stable.

Boots/bands should never be used for horses whilst they are exercised as a quote from a website states " horses are prone to over heating during exercise and one of the actions of magnets is to stimulate the circulatory system, which will in turn increase the body temperature. If magnets are used during exercise there will be an increased risk of over heating which is potentially dangerous to the horses’ health."
