I completely understand why they have done this, don't bedgruge it for the company and understand that they need the bottom line in order to run.. But at the same time, I can't keep shelling out £20 to watch a days cross country and the show jumping (plus a couple hours dressage, the whole two days is a bit much for me!) on TV... I'll end up subscribed to Badminton TV, Burghley TV, Bicton TV, Kentucky TV and 'local horse centre up the road' TV... fully aware that's a me problem though

I'm personally quite pleased as I'll be able to watch the dressage whilst WFH. Shame no early bird offer but it's still good value for money I think, all things considered.

Fancied going as never been and accessible in a day, a regular to Bramham and cost £62 for 2 tickets and parking this year, but £100 for Burghley it's a no no so I've not even looked what else the trade stands and other rings have on offer. Curiosity how much was Badminton for 2 with parking? Though I will probably subscribe to the TV coverage.

IIRC they have always previously had it on burghley tv for free (which is why I decided the last time we did the whole thing that I might actually just stay home for XC day and watch it there), I was hoping for the same but am not surprised they have moved to charging after badminton did. Planning on heading up friday so not sure if will pay on top of that atm. Especially as I haven't yet got round to watching even the iplayer coverage of badminton ?

I can’t remember bar perhaps it wasn’t as comprehensive as they’re offering this year if you include the other bits.

I don’t mind (compare to cost of going) but @AShetlandBitMeOnce makes a good point when you end up subscribing to individual events it gets a bit much!

I think H&C cover a lot of the individual events though? Or it looks like they do from the emails I get sent ?

They do but it’s a monthly/yearly payment for a huge amount. Not £20 for four days.

Potentially also looking at paying for Worlds coverage this year too.

It is a shame that more horse sports going off terrestrial or main channel TV. It’s more disconnect from the general public. I did the Discovery trial for the Olympics but wouldn’t pay for individual events.
