Just been looking at the starting line up for Burghley and gutted to see how many people have withdrawn. I was really looking forward to seeing Flint Curtis and Gandalf.

I don't know about Gandalf but Flint Curtis is on the squad for Fontainebleau so surely he was never going to run at Burghley too? Maybe I'm naive but I can't believe the ground would be bad after what happened 2 years ago at Badminton.

The ground will not be bad - it is carefully maintained for the event and it is the only time it used all year. As it has been so dry over here they have been watering the course to make sure it is near perfect for the event.

The ground is not bad! Currently the ground is slightly too hard and needs rain to soften it.
