Last week the Burghley website said that one could obtain the advance discount order price on tickets online or by telephone until 2 September. Logging on earlier this week, the offer had been withdrawn, and the site only showed the full price on the gate option. H&H had obviously read the same post and repeated it in this week's magazine. Calling the booking office, they deny that this is the case, and claim that H&H and I misread the original web message. Whether this is incompetence or chicanery I am not sure, but as a result I shall not be going on cross-country day for the first time for many many years.
