Right you lovely lot. I need something to look forward to. So, Burghley is officially 26 days away. I am seriously looking forward to it. I think we are going up on the tuesday and staying till the monday after. We want to look round the house as we realised we have been to burghley most years and have never been in the house. We are camping at the caravan park on the golf course, and I am very excited. Also super excited because I have a number of friends joining me for the Sat and my uni mates and home mates will get to meet for the first time.

I'm planning on top class horsey times, pleanty of giggles and pleanty of pimms!!!

So, who's going? What are your plans? What are you looking forward to?

Yay! Burghley! One of the highlights of my year!

A friend and I marshall the crossing points on cross country day every year, Even though it is work, I love it!

I'm going... never been before, normally go to Badminton. We're going on xc and sj days, staying with friends in their huge mansion so doing it in style so to speak!! It's my birthday on the thursday, so lots of spending money, currently on the shopping list is a pair of sergio grasso boots, yay!!

Yep, going all 4 days, counts as part of my "family" holiday this year.
Dad coming with me & hubby Thursday, son coming fri to sun if he wants & my best friend comes down from Yorkshire to stay friday night until sunday!
Hope the weathers good.

Ohhh, exciting! Where are you staying?

And I plan on doing pleanty of shopping too - my list includes boots also (but no specific ones - any that fit my giant legs!) plus maybe a bates dressage saddle... :)

I'm going, unfortunately back to school (work) on the Friday, so picking up best friend in Sheffield on the way then staying in Stamford on Friday night then Burghley Sat and Sun. So looking forward to it as best friend now lives overseas, so always combines coming home with Burghley...its our yearly ritual now!

Going with a friend and travelling down on the friday. Staying in a hotel friday night and then going to watch the x country on saturday. Cant wait it should be a good weekend. Is the list of entries up yet?

Me Me Me Me Me!!!
Have been every year of my life! (even in the womb)! Don't intend to stop now :)
Just hope the weather is okay, not like a few years ago when we had all that mud, uh it was aweful!
Might go on the dressage days this year, you get to see alot more coverage on the tele at home on saturday for the cross country i've found! lol

Me!!!! mum asked what I wanted to do for my hen party...burghley of course. we go every year! rather we spent money on shopping at Burghley than drinking!
Don't forget to take a flask of pimms to save money :)
OH was on crutches that really muddy year having just had his knee reconstructed. lol. poor abused OH. He only got stuck a couple of times.

Used to go every year as a girl as it was about half an hour away I always used to go and watch it with mum. I went mad for the shopping, I was in heaven under all the stalls.
I think it is really nice over there, and also IT is not a mud bath like most big events, I remember one year we went and it was so wet everyone looked like drowned rats. There was often a lot of coppers pulling people out of their non paid seats :D
We never paid for seats but we could see everything just as well standing next to the gate .

I would love to go again sometime, Maybe next year.
Hope everyone who is going enjoys it as much as we did :)

I'm amazinlgy lucky cos not only do i live about 45 minutes away but my dad commentates so we get free tickets and thankfully i don't go back to school till the monday!!! I am going to the trot up, one of the dressage days and both days at the weekend and it is the highlight of my year even though i can't afford to do any serious shopping on my teenage budget!!! :D:D:D:D

Oh, just as a word of caution - I went to book my SJ seat tickets last week and most had already sold out! I had to get the mega expenszive ones (£23, covered, with heatsets!) because it was either those or £10 uncovered ones and me and my girlies tend to melt in the rain so thought it was best off paying a bit extra!

So, if you are planning on going for SJ - I'd book tickets!! :)

We are going on Saturday. Travel down Friday night and stay in a hotel then plan to arrive early Sat morning. We did that last year and it worked out great.

Not totally sure which day but either sat or sun :D Looking forward to it as I've never been to Burghley! Did go to Badminton though this year :)
