thinking of taking whole family( two girls, husband and dogs) to burghley this year, staying in caravan. haven't stayed before any advice /tips want w/e to be fun as prob only trip away this year
It is dear, theres no getting away from that. But we stayed on the golf course camp site a few years ago and had a great time. So close to the site you can walk down everyday and kids took their bikes and cycled back and forth.
Dear for food also however so take plenty. Great socail scene on camp site but massive queues for showers, toilets etc
We normally do Badminton but are thinking of doing either Blenheim or Burghley this year.
Blenheim is nearest to us.
Do any of you have experience of Blenheim?
There are a few places to stay in Rutland that are withing 10 miles of Burghley. Biggest tip I can give you is each day set of very early as the traffic on the A1 is ridiculous. We used to live in Rutland 10 miles from Stamford and it once took us 3 hours to get to Burghley!!!!
Hope these help http://www.hoseasons.co.uk/productSite.aspx?ClassCode=LP2862&HolidayTypeName=UKParks
I stayed in a caravan on site last year and thoroughly enjoyed it. It is expensive yes, but you can walk in each day or park the car in the members car park and keep putting the shopping in it, as we did on our 'shopping day'. For us we found it just so convienent and easy to use, avoiding all the q's. If I can get the time off I'l definately use it again this year.
Went to Blenheim when the Europeans were on & enjoyed it but the queues getting out of the car park were mad!! Took hours to get out. Same in a lot of places I suppose but it appeared really badly organised. Prefer Burghley overall but the A1 does get really really busy so get there very early.
