At the moment I don't have my own horse as I am at university, although I finish in 2 months time

But when I am at home I often ride my dad's horse and take him to the odd dressage or SJ. My last day of classes is 25th April and I have an exam on the 20th May but I am thinking of asking my dad if I can do the 2'9 3DE starting 12th June. I have always, always want to do steeplechase

Its only a £100 to enter (inc starting fee) but at the moment I have no money although I am getting paid next friday plus an extra £150 as my bonus. But I need a job at home which I haven't managed to find. My plan in my head is too work part time in Glasgow and go home and ride during the week. But I would also have to ask dad to help get him fit.

Anyway I don't really know why I am posting, i think its just to see if you think I can do it, lol!

Then I will have to ask my dad if I can steal his horse

From what I've heard it might be the last burgie, then there is going to be big changes on the estate!

How good would it feel warming up next to the 2* horses and trotting up in from of the big house. I'd love to take Maddie but she just to green.

I think you should go for it. At least ask your dad and see if he could keep the horse fit when you're not around.

moon_drop - The last Burgie???? What gossip is this?! I hope to hell we arent losing another XC course in our area

Im hopefully taking 2 of my horses this year. One to hopefully do the CIC 1* unless I wimp out again like last year and do the Novice 1 day! The other will do the 2'9 unaffiliated 3 day for experience.

Go for it. It is excellent fun. Did the open intermediate last year and the novice the first year it was on. Was great fun, but they do have to be pretty fit. Steeplechase is good fun to do, a nice change and takes the edge off them nicely for the XC. Is the only time I have gone round a xc course at a nice pace without having to fight the whole way round!!

Tufty is more backwards than forwards so I don't think I will have a problem with the fighting.

Oh I am sooooo excited. Something to look forward to while doing my dissertation.

Go for it. Done it twice as well. Steeplechase is really fun (only not so much last year, mine was too fast). Just make sure your horse is fit enough. Burgie is hilly, and they tire at the end
