Hi
Has anyone done the prenovice or novice cross country courses at Burnham Market? What are they like? I've looked at the photos but it's hard to tell exactly what it is like.
Thanks

Ive done the Novice there - from what I can remember the SJ was quite big, in a very nice big arena.

Venue is lovely, SJ warm up wasnt great when I went it was muddy and a small triangle shape!

XC was nice not to technical but big if I remember rightly and the water can put some horses off epsecially inexperienced/young horses, it was my horses only 2nd nov and he came up to the water looking up at people on the bank going arrrrgggghhhh!!

I have done them and the intermediate! They are lovely and very approachable. Wide spread course and no real questions. The timed section is really small but set and angles which means a good line is needed but there is nothing nasty at all! A lovely course and the intermediate is really good fun!

I have jumped both courses and they are lovely:)
last year i didnt run on the PN xc but it looked very straightfoward and actually quite small vcompared to others i had jumped.

I did the pre-novice last spring and the only one that caught a few out was the water, which was approached slightly uphill with a rolltop before it. They didn't see the water until they were taking off (or not taking off, as was the case with my horse!) and so quite a few had stops. Everything else was lovely and it flowed really well.

Beware if it is dry there the ground can get very hard. They do aerovate though. Also allow plenty of time as the dressage is quite a long walk. The course itself is very fair, the water is the only iffy point.
