I popped home in my lunch break today to let the dogs out and give Burtie his lunch.
Both dogs as usual seemed pleased to see me, so I just gave Burties a scoop of his food and got on with making my lunch.
A few minutes later I noticed Burtie (14 week old lab) was still eating (he normally finishes in 10 seconds flat) so I went and had a look and he was sitting down eating which is really unlike him. I took his food away and made him stand up only to find his belly 3 times its normal size and rock hard
He then vomitted up what he had just eaten. He very suddenly became uncomfortable and started crying and breathing very heavily. I called the vets and took him straight in.
They have just x-rayed him and they said it looks like he has over eaten. The strange thing is nothing is out of place no food is missing and nothing else is chewed or missing. They have said it looks like food stuff and not a blockage but until it comes out they can't be 100% sure. They have just given him something to induce vomitting and will be keeping him in on a drip over night.
My poor little puppy
I just find it really strange that it doesn't look like he has eaten anything he shouldn't have at home. Our garden is very secure so I know no one will have fed him without me knowing
Get well vibes for Burtie very much appreciated.
