Well done on following it up, it makes you wonder how many people dont complain though?
Likewise for really considerate drivers, i like to also ring and sing the drivers praises.
Great result!
I cant quite see how telling someone they should find somewhere safer to ride ,is abuse. Just because in theory one is entitled to ride somewhere ,does not necessarily make it sane or safe ,and your lack of an alternative is quite irrelevant.
Definitely get in touch, if only so drivers understand... if that had been my boy, I doubt I'd have been in one piece afterwards; I had similar with a loud motorbike last week; the rider wouldn't wait while I got out of his way and it was just lucky we were facing the field I meant to go in by the time he roared past as we ended up galloping full speed into it!
How is it that vehicle drivers think they have more right to be on the road than horse riders. Who was there first for heaven's sake? I've experienced similar tirades from car drivers, the last being yesterday while competing in a Le Trec competition. A driver in a big 4x4 came up behind and - gasp - had to wait..., as we were crossing a left hand turn he wanted to take. He wound down his window and yelled abuse about " *%$*£% manners" as in - I should have bowed down and given thanks for the fact that he waited, rather than taking the left turn anyway and scooping me and my horse up and over his bonnet and depositing us in the ditch.
Another time, 3pm on a wide straight B road, two horses walking on the left in single file, lots of Hi Viz, car approaching from the front. Car comes up behind at speed, goes to overtake, then slams on brakes because of approaching car in front, which proceeds past. Car from behind then comes alongside, and hurls abuse at us along the lines of "Why don't you find somewhere to ride that you aren't in the way..?" Riding companion tells him to F off, which probably didn't do our cause any good, but made us feel better. ;-)
