Busy Baydale Blog: Bling, Babies and Baggy Breeches

Gosh, baggy breeches, you lucky sod! I pulled mine up today and managed to split them from front to back :o :D

Randomly Henry always jumped round roll tops well (see avatar!) it was everything else we struggled with :D

How is the delectable Arthur?? He seems to have gotten lost on his way to mine  But now I'm much closer he should find it much easier :D :D

Fab report the boys are looking great.

Perhaps the breeches were designed for someone more my shape, I am not lacking in the thigh dept:) perhaps I should hit a Baydale diet, although Cal's not Jups sounds the better option:D

Lovely photos!! Didn't see too much wrong with the breeches myself although I think you are dealing with the problem the wrong way. Why don't you eat more cake to fit into them? Or it is only me that buys a size too big and then says 'Oh look - they are hanging off me' ;)

They are both looking great, they are both so cute! Am most jealous about your breeches being too flappy around the thighs... have never had that problem! :( ;)

They are cute, aren't they, and you may remind me of that next time I'm on the floor looking up at one or other of them.:p

Both boys looking fab, and Jup's tummy is definitely shrinking since last pics. Am very jealous of your baggy breeches, I have one old but lovely tally ho pair and they don't make them any more (all my others are skintight).

The 'babies' in the title had me a tad worried for a minute, thought you might have followed Joss' lead and got a little broody....

But baby ponies... thats alright.

Fiona

Sorry BD - I was so amazed I managed to answer flapjack's techie question, I completely forgot to comment on your thread :o

Laurel and Hardy were complete stars :D A bit green and wobbly here and there, I know, but well up for it and once they got going, they both settled into a lovely rhythm and made a really good job of it.

I'm sure we'll all be off jumping 'proper' stuff in no time at all! ;)

See you soon Baggy Breeches! :p

Baggy breeches are "in" in North America so you'd look right at home in the hunter ring. Come to think of it, we also like our working hunters xxxxxxxl so Jup would fit right in, too. ;)

Glad the boys behaved and I'm sure they'll get their bio-rhythms on the same cycle soon enough. :D

But can you imagine how much DHL would charge to ship the combined weight of Jup and I to NA?! ;)

LMAO at the breeches....but they do not as bad as they sound in the pictures ;-p promise!! Just boil wash them about 90 degrees should do the trick!!!

Sounds a really fun day out and the "pre school" lot looked lovely in their photos! Glad their enjoying being educated and look to be having a whole load of fun at the same time!

Well done on the stressage too.....!

Sounds like m_m had a complete blast too, you had lovely weather for it!

"Pre school" - that's a very good way of describing them, SW.:) They are best mates and were having a good old bonding session in the field this morning, soooo sweet. :o

Both boys look great and sounds like some very good dressage results there :)

I was thinking that Jup is looking alot slimmer then those first SJ pics you put up of him jumping at home.

Im still missing some HH updates though, we miss seeing his pics. How is his greatness?!
Saw Hec at nurstead yesterday as he came through our fence, he really is a credit to you as are all your boys, his face looked so sweet :)

Aw thanks H_J, I've just seen the Nurstead photos and Hec looks so happy it made me want to cry (soppy old cow:rolleyes:).

Jup is slimmer, thank god, but it'll be a long time before he looks like a grown-up eventer. :( His Greatness is fine, just getting back into the groove so you should see some action pics soon... :D

You've had a busy few days but it sounds like everyone had fun and well done on the dressage - a rosette is a rosette is a rosette wherever it comes from. I like the picture you conjured up (for me as well) of trying not to cry because 'she was allowed a grackle - it's not fair' and then you had to go and spoil it by telling us the steward sorted it :D

Thanks Rosiefan. Damn my honesty as I'd love you all to have thought I was the Wicked Witch of the West, or should that be Nasty Nicky of the North? ;)

I did notice baggy breeches (only cus I'm jealous, nothing is ever baggy on me!) No problem all you need is a few more of our sausage cobs to build you up

See, I knew I looked ridiculous and you were all laughing at me. :( ;)

That sausage cob was my saviour, I swear I would've fainted otherwise after all that exertion with the Cheeky Boys. :)

Baggy breeches; quick, quick get me a pair:D:D

Boys looking good, thank you for the update, was wondering about you. Hope HH is ok.

Have I bought Maternity Breeches accidentally, do you think?

HH is feeling good again, thanks, with the full repertoire of aerobatics, gurning and peculiar noises. :D

They'd have been fine on you as I could pull them right up to under my "chest".

How is the lovely Henry? Arthur wouldn't have the best sense of direction so you might have to lure him with the smell of food, step by step. Mainly he is playing dead in the field though, so it might be easier if you sent a flat bed trailer with a winch to collect him. ;)

Thanks, alwaysbroke.:)

Cal's diet is the envy of the whole yard and I swear he's developing a smug look when the others are gazing longingly at his heaped feed bucket. :p

Yep, that's just you.;) When is the next ISZ picnic as I'm sure some of your deli purchases could be just what I need to make the breeches fit? :D

Broody? Oh yes, we've got Grace due to foal at the end of May... :p

They are very like the TallyHo ones actually, so keep your eye out on Ebay for them. :)

Ah, the Chef d'Equipe speaketh. :D Thank goodness you told me what colour my course was as I think your bank complex would've stumped my two and I'd have been wearing the brush fence.

Glad to see all that IT training hasn't been wasted...:p

You actually have an amazing collection of horses!!!!

**AR wanders off feeling jealous and wishing there were a few blue and white pics in your report......**

Why thank you, AR, that's very sweet of you to say. :) There may well be some blue and white photos after next weekend....

Well seeing as I've come to this post rather late (what? me? :p) it would seem that there is little left to add - either that or my funny bone has deserted me after the morning I've had. However, as always, I'll add it anyway (numbered for easy reading) ;):

1. Can I joint the Kindergarten Klub too please? As a fellow owner of two equally different 5yos I think I'm entirely eligible and may even be ahead in the chalk and cheese stakes: 15.1 and unassuming vs 17.1 and downright assuming. Beat that!

2. Breeches - I would say 'post them to me', but I reckon that you need to be totally swimming in them before I get close to squeezing into them. I bought a pair of Kentucky Mexico cheap recently which fit perfectly.... until you've been riding for an hour or two then they seem to be two sizes bigger . Perhaps I should wear them to our Chinese's 'all you can eat for £10' night and try to get my money's worth? In fact, perhaps you should join me! ;)

3. Ears - sorry Thistle and BD, Fugly wins in the ear stakes, hands down. You can nearly tie them in a quick release knot. I know. I've tried! :o

4. Wot T_E said about Intermediate looking big after playing with babies. It's true dammit. She who has jumped many a Foxhunter track had a major wobble over an 80cm course the other night . Heaven knows what Novice would look like now .

Very entertaining report :D
I can sympathise with baggy breeches as all breeches look baggy on me (skinny runt) :o

Love the last pic of Cal. Looks like you decided 'sod the small stuff, lets just have a crack at the huge fence with barb wire running through it'

The pics 'almost' made me want to take my pre-school out to play xc. :)

How is the lovely Henry?

Henry is over the moon to have finally been reunited with his long lost boyfriend, however this hard ground isn't his best friend and the big idiot insists on escaping daily and hooning around with the youngsters  So he is feeling his age at the moment, but doing an outstanding job of nannying the babies out on ploddy hacks :D

Blimey, I spend a few days off t'interweb and all goes mad. LMAO at the stressage, but thanks for reminding me, I would have done the same this weekend!! And ooooh those 5yos look yummy - Jup over the ditch doing a daddy long legs with dispraxia impression was brill, and Cow looks sooo well. I can only hope that my re-schooler takes to XC with such gusto! As for the breeches - bah, eat more jaffas... :D
