Well I think it's fairly safe to say that as much as Della likes galloping on sand she does not like paddling in the sea. She did go in eventually (with some help from her BFF Molly) but managed to get taken out, not once, but twice by waves when trying to jump/avoid/run away from them - needles to say we were both rather soggy by the end! Below is the story of our day :D

Looks like an amazing day, I'm quite jealous.

She's too sweet looking at the waves as they come past. She must have been so confused, poor thing.

They are lovely pictures and story...I was at Redcar beach last Thursday and enviously watched an appaloosa and a bay have a work out on miles and miles of sand. Lucky folk.

It's lovely :) Am now moving to a different part of the country so will have to see if there's a nice beach there too and do some serious wave desensitisation work! Lol
 
That looks awesome! Beautiful pics, love the canter in the water one. Very jealous, now I'm going to have to go to beach to play as well :p

Just wait until you go swimming! I don't particularly like riding bare back on Bill (big shoulders and shortish back coupled with big movement lol) so I'm planning on trying a poly pad under a roller so I can attach stirrups :D

If you wanted to meet up at Redcar, I'm not too far away and on holiday for the next month...

Am dying to take ponio to the beach but don't want to go on my own!

Haha, I can't get her in the waves without a lead so I think swimming is off the cards for a while yet :p
 
Mine also has a signature move involving turning and then p***ing off rapidly if a wave approaches!

It looks like you had a lovely day, even if that horse-eating waves nearly got D ;).
 
So jealous! Hoping to do this soon, although no way will I get mine in the water. He hates water and I can't even get him in on a XC course!

Haha, I must admit it's one of the few things I can understand her disliking, especially after knocking her off her feet twice (though she would have been fine if she's not been being a prat ;) ) bless her
