If a horse had a course of bute, how long after the final does would it have to be before they got a 'clean' blood test?

Really?? Well why is it that you have to submit your test tube of blood to the vet within two days if you suspect taht the horse you have just bought and had a five stage vetting on has been druged (i.e. bute). I thought you had this 48 hours before it starts to go out of the system?
