Bute vs Global Herbs Alphabute

Is Bute more effective than Alphabute per gram? Ideally I'd like an unbiased opinion and I'm not certain I can get that from a vet or GH.

Alphabute is a herbal supplement whose ingredients may reduce pain and inflammation .
Bute is a powerful anti inflammatory pain relieving drug .

The clue is that you can only get bute POM and the other can be bought anywhere. So bute is the proven one.

I've tried alphabute in the past, and never found it to be much use.

Now I found it to be absolutely brilliant. My mare had carpitis and was stumbling so much I had to turn her out in knee boots and couldn't even ride her in walk. I started her on Alphabute (ButeX as it was back then) and had to take a week to build up to a therapeutic dose as she was super-fussy and it does stink, but within a week I was not only just walking around the fields on her but letting her have a whizz on the final straight. I wouldn't hesitate to praise it, but I'm only too aware that like most things in life, it doesn't work for everyone.
