I would say around three days to get into the system, and probably around the same to come out.

My boy was on a weeks course, 2 aday

Bute should take effect pretty quickly - within an hour or so. And once you have stopped giving it I believe you need to give 7 days for a clear bood test.

It maybe does not, but I noticed a massive improvment after that time.

Normally, if the vet has prescribed bute, they give a "loading" dose, then as prescribed for how many days.

It does take a little while to get through the system, and obviously does take time to come out of the system also.

Hi bute noramlly takes 12 hours to work and then after 24hours it drops to the point of very little use, this is why there is a loading dose and it used daily (or twice daily)
