I went away for the wknd and a livery was feeding my boy, but literally in 24 hrs he has the worst reaction on his nose, presuming butter cup burn

I can't get anywhere near it to put cream on it, does any one have any suggestions to try and give him some relief so I can get cream on it?! Will Benadryl ire the like do anything? Or Danalon?!
I'll bring him in during day
We have shows at the wknd aswell :(

Obviously removing the buttercups is first priority.

In during the day is another good idea, as is a nose cover on the fly mask - to protect from further damage to the delicate area from the sun.

Not a lot will give pain relief unless you apply it topically. One of ours got a bad photosensitive reaction last summer - I put sudocrem on his nose (when I could - he's 18hh so hard to reach when he puts his head up!) which helped block the sunshine a little.

My gelding had this a few weeks ago and the vet prescribed a steroid cream to use for 5 days. We also removed the buttercups from the field. Also when it's healed we were advised to cover him in suncream as he won't tolerate a fly mask.
