Anyone ever dealt with this before? My gelding keeps getting scabs on his legs that the vet thinks are buttercup burns. I have moved him off the field that has buttercups in it but at some point I’m going to have to use it again to let my other field rest. They have already been sprayed this year but some buttercups have came through so can’t spray again.
Any ideas how to keep his legs covered? I was thinking fly boots but not sure if that would help.
It seems sore for him and causes his leg to swell (has been scanned when this happened initially and no cause for swelling other than buttercups)

Better than fly boots are the Silver Whinnies socks. Buttercups cause photosensitivity so you have to keep the sun off the legs whilst they heal and these do that the best. Once the sores have healed I find the Shires fly boots are the best ones

Great idea thank you so much! Who knew a little plant would cause so many issues!!!!!!

Totally agree. I found them impossible to get hold of when I last tried, admittedly a while ago.
Silver Whinneys are amazing!
I have one left and keep it safe incase of an emergency manky leg ever!
