Buttercups

I sprayed my field with 'Envy' weed killer, now while the field looks fab and the buttercups are gone the stems are still there. I am not really sure what I thought would happen with them. Will they go away over time? Do I need to pick them? Are they still not palatable to the horses now they are dead?

Since dried buttercups in hay are I believe harmless, I wouldn't worry about dead stems in the field.
