Buyers Beware

Read it and felt absolutely disgusted.

Hmm people may not be able to see this when Im not logged in - so to paraphrase.

A girl who has a horse who has arthiritus has admitted she is selling him as an allrounder and not going to tell people about it.

I have no idea about arthiritus, but the fact she is even thinking about not telling people who dictate that its quite bad.

Hopefully its a troll and its all a big wind up...

There are loads of horses for sale that have an unsoundness.I can't find the post as I don't know which section its in but There are a lot of dodgy people out there . She is silly to post because if someone buys it and then hears she was telling everyone about whats wrong with it ,she would have to compensate them.Poor horse

I would have though that, until I had the problems with my lad. He was going on and off lame on his near fore so got vet out. Vet came and he failed flexion tests on all four legs

and was trotting up lame on both fronts. Anyway, was asked to arrange to get him into clinic for nerve blocks and x-rays, but to box rest in the meantime. Did as asked and he went to clinic 3 days later. By then, he was 110% sound on all legs. Passed flexion with flying colours, no matter what vet did, no signs of any problems. Anyway, took him home and carried on as normal until he went lame again and got him back to clinic as soon as poss without box resting him in between and he was diagnosed with arthritis in front leg and has since been diagnosed with arthritis in both hocks.

Sorry for the essay, but my point is that I think if I ever wanted to sell Mac (never would), a couple of days resting and it is possible that he could pass a vetting!

from personal experience I know that's not true!
 
Not if the arthritic horse has a nice little injection a couple of weeks beforehand! This goes on all the time and often slip through the net in vettings!
 
Fair enough, sorry I'm not sticking up for the girl at all, I think it is terrible that anyone would do that. But the vetting should sho up if the horse is suitable for the purpose it is brought for.

I had a 5 stage and ended up with a blind horse.....vets can miss things that's all.

Buying a horse is such a minefield I can't believe people would sell and animal without telling the truth that's all.....
 
Hello Murphy, Has she wiped her topics off as I didn't see any of them when I logged on today. She is simply a total hypocritic banging on how no-one else was good enough to look after her horse and now she doesn't even have the strength of charcter to find him a home where he might have suitable work and care. She wants to sell him as a full price sound horse when he should be going as a low price family animal without the expectation of hard work in his future. With so many novices out there she will easily find someone to blindside, most likley waving pictures of high jumps under their nose, and the poor horse will end up being passed round dealers when it can't perform.
 
Nice little native show / dressage pony round our way is going to be up for sale shortly. Great excuse for why he's not been out and doing for the past few months - rider has had to take on youngster from a sibling and has been doing GCSE's and not been able to compete the "established" pony as the youngster needs so much work.

Actual fact - it's got arthritis in its hocks but can be got sound for several weeks if injected and not worked too hard. Owners were gutted when they found out, but obviously not so gutted that they'd sell him cheaply to hacking home. Oh no, this boy is going to be sold as a competition prospect!

It's not fair on the pony and it's not fair on the new owners.

hi the poster on equine world was fatal dream , this post has been removed by admin and her membership of forum has gone , not the sort of horse person thats welcome there , thank goodness , just hope someone honourable buys the horse
