I've just found it, thanks! OP, I used to work with Larry back in 2014/2015/2016, so I knew him when he was first backed. He was started by an SJ rider but owned by a private owner, who I think had ideas about owning a few SJ horses. I remember him having scope but not being top level. Personality wise he is very, very sweet, a really cuddly chap. I think I must have hacked him out a bit because I did most horses there. He deserves a lovely home, I hope he finds one!
Thanks for this, that's a good recommendation. It was kind of you to contact me about him, I hope I manage to view him.

If I did have him I would certainly give him a good home on a smashing yard and he'd want for nothing and be very loved and I dare say it slightly spoilt too :)

I have very fond memories of Larry holding onto the broom and "sweeping" his own stable while myself and the other groom absolutely cracked up. Please do update us if you go and see him!

Thanks everyone! ?He was lovely to ride and such a personality! I think he's super. I felt very strange at first, not only am I two stone overweight and so very conscious that i don't feel good, but obviously trying to find out what buttons to press are tricky in front of strangers. But i got there!. There was a lovely pro rider chap who rode him for me first, plenty of work on equal reins. So i got on and he gave me some advice and i got walk to canter, a bit of counter canter and a couple of flying changes. When he explained what i was doing wrong I understood straight away and was able to alter my request accordingly and Lari responded.

He's a lovely ride. I do hope he passes the vetting. Anyone in the cheshire area - I have a list of vets i will put on a seperate post if you wouldn't mind giving me a recommendation!

Then on my request the chap got back on, and popped him over a cross pole and then a little upright.

I got back on and cantered straight to the cross pole jump and he jumped it so calmly, so we put it to an upright and he was smashing no increase of pace. I was so chuffed I burst into tears! I bet they thought I was mad but its so nice when you feel you have found 'the one'. All week I've had the sellers number in my phone as 'dream horse' so I think I had high hopes from the start and knew it would work out. ?

Won't be able to sleep now until the vetting.

That's so great to hear, everything crossed for the vetting ???
I am very fond of the Landgraf lines (my current gelding is Landgraf-Landadel on dam side) and Larry does look like a sweet fella

I can recommend Simon Woods of Lower House Equine - although based Shropshire he often goes to Geoff Billingtons usually once a week.
He is a Team GB vet (he was one of the vets at the quarantine base for Tokyo this year) and his specialism is performance and lameness issues.
Depends where in Cheshire the horse is I guess.

Ah thanks but over 1.5 hrs away and 75 miles. I may as well as my vet as they've as far to come. But thanks for the recommendation.

Fab update, how exciting! Fingers crossed for the vetting and then hopefully we can see some more pictures, he looks like he's filled out a lot since I knew him. He was a very gawky youngster!
Its such a small world. He's like a 3 year old, everything was going in his mouth, especially his reins. He's very sweet.

Agnews, Ashbrook and Wright and Morten all competent for pre purchase vettings in Cheshire Birker. Arnie Agnew is the one I would want because he's my vet and has been for a long time now and I trust him to be through and pragmatic.
