I am looking to buy a foal or a youngster and would like a nice warmblood but at a reasonable price. Most of the warmblood types I've seen are around £5000 due to their bloodlines. Does anyone know any studs or anyone who sells youngsters at a reasonable price? I have backed many youngsters so I am experienced but paying thousands for a horse that isn't yet ridden isn't something I can currently do. I bought my 15hh warmblood for £450 seven years ago and he's turned out lovely! I would like it to mature to around 16.2hh - 17hh.

I know i'm not going to get something with fantastic bloodlines at a knock-out price and I am prepared to spend into the thousands, just not quite that much!

where are you looking and how much did you want to spend? I bought my boy from Tempest Stud, I didn't look at anything younger than 4 but she does have youngsters available. PM me if you want details.

2 year olds are notoriously difficult to sell so even if you see one with a price tag on the owners website don't be shy about offering significantly less. 3 year olds tend to hold their prices as they are so close to being backed, or already are.

I never thought of it like that actually, I bought mine as a two year old and got him a lot cheaper than he was worth. Thank you :)
