Just looking at hats and then I thought - surely unless they pack and deliver them with the utmost care, is there a likelyhood that a hat might be damaged slightly in transit??

Usually they just bung them in the box in the post like everything else so yes there is a big risk

very true. I think unless you already knew that size of hat you needed (in the particular make/style) then you would have to be quite silly to buy a hat over the internet!

It's possible. I think your main concern should be the fit though. Different makes and models vary one from another so, unless you have tried a make/model and you know it fits, it's not an advisable thing to do.

*runs to hide as many say they have bought mail order with no problems*

Im going to buy it in person i think - even though theres no guarentee they are 100% either.
Scary world out there! Dont think my local does the proII skull though..

Im not! lol Im serious! Say ok no transit damage but then we're relying on the counter monkeys to treat our hats with the upmost care - even if 9/10 do, you only need one to drop your hat...

The other weekend when Derby House had their big sale I brought a hat and they put tons of shredded paper in plus bubble rap plus some other stuff and the covered it in red tape to say it was delicate. So it was very safe and absolutly perfect when it came out of the box.
