Buying a horse from Gypsies?

I bought my welsh d from gypsies, I saw him in a field, left a note to say I was interested in him and my number. They called me and we agreed a price. I met up with them to pick him up, they didn't have his passport as it wasn't available at the time they got him from the autumn cob sale at Builth wells but gave his lot number, price, his name and name of the buyer. I contacted the wpcs and they confirmed it all and sent me his passport. Contacted his breeder and she confirmed it all!

6 years on he is everything I wanted!! Not all 'gypsies' are bad people!!

There are gypsies near my yard and I would happily recommend anyone looking for a horse to go and look at them, they are well cared for, healthy and the kids spend hours grooming, plaiting and faffing with them. They all look very happy horses.

I am sure there are others that don't treat theirs like this but like everyone else said, go with open eyes and make sure you have someone knowledgeable with you.
