However honest the seller of a horse they may not know what is wrong with their horse. A horse with a problem will rapidly become a very expensive horse because of the vets bills etc. Always tell your vet exactly what you want to use the horse for so that after the vetting he can advise you if he considers it suitable for the intended purpose. The other advantage to the seller of a horse of a vetting as recent court cases have demonstrated is that if there are any problems the vetting paperwork can be used to demonstrate the condition of the horse when sold.

Thanks Guys, I know it's a hit or a miss with a vetting, but just tink they should be on the safe side as 1st pony didnt get vetted and turned out to be in foal, foal was deformed and mare had to be PTS. Current horse is fine, no health probs, but for 5+ and she wants to compete I would be really upset if it turned out something was wrong. He is being sold due to Rider injury (not from him) and not cos of something hes done. But at the end of the day its up to her if she gets it done.
