Just wondering if different people ask different questions, and what you really have to ask. Is it different for a baby to an adult? Riding horse different to a broodie?

Cheers!

I ask myself 'Why oh why?' a lot.

Well, I wouldn't ask what a foal was like to ride, if that's what you mean?

It depends on what you want to do with the horse.
Competition record
Good with novices/children
Good with vehicles
Good on own and with others
last time had teeth/back/tack checked
last time farrier/vet
good to travel/load
nappy/rears/bucks
does it stay in field
what bit is used, this says a lot

Cant think of anything else besides obvious height, age, breed etc

I always ask if it has EVER reared or bucked when ridden, and most horses will have done so it tests the horses owner honesty, if they say it has ask for an explanation, if it hasn't try it and see if you think they could be genuine..

Thanks! This is the sort of thing I mean. I'm taking a friend to see a horse and want to make sure she's not missing anything.
