Would you? Its no where near girth but at top of front leg. Horse is really nice. I really like him but cant afford treatment if I do buy him.

I personally wouldn't!
My friends horse has sarcoids, she has had him for years and they have got worse over the years, and they have spread, he is now non rideable as thay are in the girth area, such a shame as he is a lovely boy.
So just because he hasn't got many now, believe me he will get more.
There are plenty more good horses out there.
Good luck

ive had 2 horses with sarcoids, one had a few on hes sheath the other had a huge one betwwen back legs. I had diagnoses through vets then treated through alternitive therepys.. all dissapeared with no signs of scars or anything. the horse with them on his sheath I knw 3 years later that there is no signs f them reappering.

It would have to be a no for me too. But that said, you could go and find a horse just as perfect as this one but without the sarcoide, buy it and get it home and then a few weeks later it developes them. I would'nt buy a horse that already has a sarcoide tho.

We just have but the sarcoid is out of sight and looks like it could be easily treated with a ram ring, the pony failed the vetting (due to the Sarcoid) so was then reduced in price. I think it really depends on the sarcoid, the age of the pony, the price and most importantly if it can easily be treated!

Hi I have brought a horse at 19 years old with scarcoids around her ears, did not put me off and they are going down really well with supplements.
I ride her in an extra large bridle with a sheepskin trim on headpiece, she is happy and is mainly used for hacking and is giving me back my confidence.lovey mare loved to bits and is worth every penny.
If she was younger I would have had a real good think....It really depends on age, what you want the horse for and price.

if hes perfect for you what did the vet say ? i bought the perfect horse and a year later he developed tiny sarcoids and this last month one between front leg which has grown quick and different to others , ive never known /owned a horse with a sarcoid it hasnt effected my boy but none have been were tack goes ask the vet his opinion on treatment and you could ask for asking price to be reflected in this i am having my boy treated at the end of the month so , before he developed these he would have passed a vetting, now he wont .In eccesnce he could be treated succesfully and never get these again, thus able to pass a five star vetting .Have a chat with owner and vet .You can have pix sent to liverpool free for diagnosis but will take a while to come back, id say if this horse is the one, speak to vet and owner . would it have passed me of buying my boy ?NO WAY and tbh if i wanted to sell him, i could no bother because hes quiet and laid back , sarcoids or not but hes not for sale :)Good luck in your desicion and let us know

Thanks everyone. My worry is he is young and it may spread. Also I would be excluded on insurance for treatment which is costly I understand. However, having said that horse is really nice and I really like him. Contacting vets tomorrow.
